The Sharjah Media Council (SMC) reaffirmed its commitment to developing the Emirate of Sharjah’s media system, transmitting the Emirate’s civilized and cultural projects, and providing media content that contributes to social cohesion and cultural awareness in accordance with the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, while Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi presided over the Sharjah Media Council’s meeting with its new framework this morning in Sharjah Media City “Shams”.
The Sharjah Media Council offered its heartfelt greetings and blessings to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, on the occasion of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) topping the list of international book fairs in terms of copyright sales and purchases. The fair attracted a large number of local and international publishing houses, totaling 1632 publishers from 83 countries, as well as presenting a variety of cultural, scientific, and literary activities and seminars for all segments of society.
The Council commended the fortieth session of the Sharjah International Book Fair for its distinguished level, which demonstrates the emirate’s continued excellence in organizing various cultural, social, media, economic, and other events upon the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the support of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
